Agreement reached in deadly helicopter crash lawsuit

DES MOINES (KWWL) -- Both parties in a deadly helicopter crash lawsuit have reached an agreement resolving all issues.

The crash occurred near Walford during the filming of "The Final Season".  Cameraman Rolan Schlotzhauer died when the helicopter hit a powerline.  The pilot, Richard Green of Hudson, and film producer escaped with injuries.

Dwight James, a Des Moines attorney who acted as mediator, said he cannot release the terms of the settlement.  But he reported, there will not be any appeal.

A Polk County jury awarded $7.2 million to Schlotzhauer's widow, and an additional $4.2 million to the injured film producer.

The jury ruled Green and two producers were at fault for the accident.
