CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- Chad Rinehart, a former Panther that plays for the Washington Redskins, was arrested early Monday morning.

University of Northern Iowa Police arrested Rinehart on the hill Monday morning and he's been charged with Public Intoxication.

UNI Police spokesman, Dave Zariffs, says officers went Mojo's Pizza House for a door alarm at around 2:00 a.m. Monday morning.  When they got there, they found Rinehart pulling on a locked door.

According to the police report, Rinehart appeared to be drunk and refused a breath test.

He was taken to the Black Hawk County Jail and released by court order.

Rinehart, a native of Boone, played at Northern Iowa from 2004-07 and made four starts for the Redskins last season before breaking his right leg.
