UPDATE: Police release name of Dubuque shooter

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- Dubuque Police say 34-year-old Matthew C. Folstad of Dubuque was the shooter in a downtown incident last Monday.  Folstad is an employee of Dubuque Pawn, the location of the shooting.

20-year-old Geromey Gilliand was shot in the back at Dubuque Pawn on Monday, January 11.  Gilliand was hospitalized and released a day later.

Police say the shooting was the result of a dispute between Gilliand and the pawn shop's owner.  Police now say the dispute was because Gilliand allegedly assaulted the owner's daughter the previous weekend.

On the day of the shooting, police say Gilliand went to Dubuque Pawn with three others.  They say there was a physical fight and shots were fired.

No one has been charged in the shooting.  Police are still investigating.
