CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- Evan Tecklenburg, a redshirt sophomore with the UNI football team, has been kicked off the team following his third arrest in nearly 18 months.

Tecklenburg was first arrested on September 13, 2008 for First Offense Operating While Intoxicated or Drugged.  He was also arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, but that charge was later dismissed.

Then, in July of 2009, Tecklenburg was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was also ticketed for Possession of Alcohol Under the Legal Age.  The UNI Athletic Department says that was when Tecklenburg lost his scholarship.

Tecklenburg was arrested again on Sunday, January 17, 2009, this time for 2nd Offense Operating While Intoxicated or Drugged.

The UNI Athletic Department says that Tecklenburg has now been dismissed from the team.

Tecklenburg, who is from Muscatine, played offensive line for the Panthers in 8 games during the 2009 season.
