Panthers set school record, win 15th straight

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- The University of Northern Iowa men's basketball team won its 15th-straight game Saturday with a 62-40 win over the Indiana State Sycamores in front of a sellout crowd of 6,778 in the McLeod Center.

The Panthers (16-1 overall, 7-0 MVC) limited the Sycamores (11-7 overall, 3-4 MVC) to 16 percent shooting in the second half and increased their lead in the Missouri Valley Conference to a two-game bulge after seven games.

UNI had four players reach double figures in scoring led by senior Adam Koch with 13 points. Koch's 13 points give him 1,000 career points and he becomes the 31st Panther in the history of the program to reach the 1,000-point mark. Starters Kwadzo Ahelegbe and Johnny Moran tallied 11 points, while Lucas O'Rear contributed 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor.

UNI will be in action Tuesday at Wichita State with an 8:05 p.m. tip on ESPNU.
