Waterloo man charged with kidnapping

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- A 43-year old Waterloo man has been arrested and charged with kidnapping.

Police say Andre Dewayne Ross, 43, was arrested Wednesday and charged with 2nd Degree Kidnapping and Violation of a No-Contact Order after he stopped a woman from leaving a house at gunpoint.

They say the incident began when Ross got into an argument with the woman at a friend's house.  When she tried to leave, Ross stopped her at gunpoint.

Ross then walked her home and held her there.

The woman was able to alert her daughter when they came into the house.  The daughter then called police.

Ross was arrested back in July for holding the same woman at his house against her will.

He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and false imprisonment in that case and was sentenced to a year in jail.  That sentence was suspended to time served and probation.

The woman then filed a no-contact order.

Ross is being held in the Black Hawk County Jail on $100,000 bond.
