I'll Sign On!

WATERLOO (KWWL) - Thursday morning Waterloo Schools Superintendent Gary Norris released the names of the five struggling schools and how the district hopes to gain support from the community in moving forward.

Norris says changes have been implemented at the troubled schools. To show support for the district, Waterloo Schools has added the "I'll Sign On!" campaign to their website.

The districts is asking faculty, staff, parents, and people in the community to sign a pledge to help make waterloo schools the highest achieving and the safest school district in Iowa

"It's unfortunate the designation couldn't reflect what's going on in our schools today because we have already turned a new corner," said Dr. Norris.

The troubled schools are divided into two categories. The first tier includes George Washington Carver Academy, formerly Logan Middle School, and Lincoln elementary.

The second tier includes Central Middle School, Bunger Middle School, and East High School.
