FBI warns of Haitian disaster aid scams

Posted:

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- As people rush to make donations to help Haitians, scammers are looking for ways to pocket your money.

The FBI is reminding everyone to be critical of those asking for your donations.

They say never respond to any unsolicited e-mails. Be skeptical of people representing themselves as surviving victims. Check out the legitimacy of a group online before making a donation.

And, never give your personal or financial information to anyone who solicits contributions.
