Wahlert High School to honor 50 years of religious service

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- Wahlert Catholic High School students will honor 50 years of service to the religious life on February 1st, 2010.  During Catholic Schools Week the school will celebrate the anniversary of sisters and priest in Dubuque.

"It is because of the commitment and dedication from our Catholic community and the countless sisters and priests who have served at Wahlert Catholic High School, that Wahlert and our students have been successful," said Steve Cornelius.

Area sisters and priests have been invited to share in a special Mass being said in their honor on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 8:45 a.m. in the Wahlert gymnasium. This Mass has been planned by the Junior Christian Leadership class, will also kick off Catholic Schools Week at the school.

In addition, a special stained glass window will be unveiled after Mass also honoring the religious. The Dubuque community is invited to share in this Mass and celebration.
