Oelwein hosts Roger Fisher-Bruce Benefit Saturday night.

Roger Fisher-Bruce desperately needs help and that's why his community is responding with a special benefit event for Roger in Oelwein on January 16.

Roger needs multiple blood transfusions to help him deal with his ongoing illness; Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, commonly known as AIDS. Roger is in the latter stages of his illness. Roger also has a rare blood type, HR factor, which complicates his already precarious health condition.

As if that isn't serious enough, Roger has had a run of bad luck lately. His car broke down, leaving him with no transportation to make his trips to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, where his AIDS specialist is located. The January 16 benefit is critical because Roger has neither health nor life insurance.

The Roger Fisher-Bruce AIDS Benefit will be held January 16th at the well known Docs Triple D Restaurant and Bar, at 120 South Frederick Avenue in Oelwein.

Monetary donations can be sent to John Bruce at 985 South Frederick Avenue, Oelwein, IA.50662.

For more information about the special Roger Fish-Bruce benefit, just call Docs Triple D at 319-283-9595.
