Muscatine man charged with murder

MUSCATINE (KWWL) -- A Muscatine man faces First Degree Murder charges after the body of a woman was found during the investigation of an abandoned vehicle.

Police were called to the 2500 block of Pettibone Road to investigate a car that was dumped in a sand pit filled with water.

The owner of the vehicle said that his girlfriend, Kristi Nicosia, should have had the car and she should be at home.

Officers went to Nicosia's home on 8th Street in Muscatine and no one appeared to be home.  They entered the home for a welfare check and found Nicosia dead inside.

After further investigation, police arrested 38-year old Brett Eugene Noble at around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.  He has been charged with Murder in the First Degree.

The Muscatine County Attorney's Office will not say how Nicosia and Noble are acquainted because it's part of the ongoing investigation.

Noble made his initial appearance on Tuesday morning and said he wants to represent himself.

He is being held on a $2 million bond.

Anyone with information related to this case is asked to call the Muscatine Police Department at 563-263-9922.
