National Influenza Vaccination Week begins

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Monday marked the beginning of National Influenza Vaccination Week.  Many Iowans are already vaccinated, much in part to the spread of the H1N1 strain of flu.

40 Iowans died last year from complications of the new flu.  State health officials say the seasonal flu hasn't yet hit iowa, but say if you're not vaccinated, you are vulnerable.

Linn County is organizing a number of free clinics over the next two weeks.  They have eight thousand doses, available to anyone.

Call the Linn County Health Department to schedule an appointment.
