Residents of Schaller asked to conserve water

SCHALLER (KWWL) - Residents of the city of Schaller in western Iowa have been asked to conserve or limit their use of water after a water main break.  The Iowa Department of Natural Resources said Sunday that residents were asked to "only use water as necessary" and on Monday not use water from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. On Monday, the city plans to repair the water main break and will shut the water off.  State officials say customers will be notified when they can use water on Monday and if they will need to take any other precautions.  The department says the system is "maintaining pressure and is keeping up with demand" but asks residents to delay using washing machines and dish washers so the system can maintain pressure.
