Dubuque City Council sets public budget meetings

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- The Dubuque City Council is holding a series of public hearings to review City department and division budget details for 2011. The council will hold a final public hearing on March 9 to adopt Fiscal Year 2011 Operating and Capital Budgets.

The public is invited to attend and provide feedback at the following public hearings:

Monday, February 1: Recommended budget document presentation to City Council at Council Meeting

Monday, February 8: Human Rights, Finance, City Attorney, City Manager, City Council, City Clerk

Wednesday, February 10: Water, Water Pollution Control, Public Works, Engineering

Thursday, February 11: Cable TV, Information Services, Five Flags Civic Center, Conference Center, Recreation, Parks

Tuesday, February 16: Planning Services, Economic Development, Parking, Transit, Housing/Community Development,

Wednesday, February 24: Purchase of Services, Library, Health Services, Fire

Tuesday, March 2: Emergency Communications, Emergency Management, Airport, Police, Building Services

Tuesday, March 9: Public Hearing to Adopt FY 2011 Budget

City staff from each department and division present FY 2011 budget information to the City Council. Budget hearings are also aired live on CityChannel 8 on the Dubuque cable television system and streamed live and archived on the City's website, www.cityofdubuque.org.

All hearings are held in the City Council Chambers on the second floor of the Historic Federal Building at 350 West 6th Street. All hearings begin at 6:30 p.m.
