Dubuque business owner named HBA President

URBANDALE (KWWL) -- The Home Builders Association of Iowa has elected a Dubuque business owner as their new president.

Sheila Hefel, who owns Star Builders with her husband Doug, is the 2010 President and assumed her duties on January 1.

As President, Hefel will be responsible for representing the association's 2200 members and 11 local chapters across the state.

She will also serve as the official spokesperson for the state association and will help set legislative policy for the upcoming year.

Hefel will also serve as Chairman of the Board for the HBA of Iowa and as a liaison to the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, DC.

She will be joined on the 2010 Executive Committee by two other Eastern Iowans.  Tari Dailey of Ogden & Adams Lumber in Cedar Rapids is the 1st Vice President and Glenn Siders of Southgate Development in Iowa City is the 2nd Vice President.  The Immediate Past President is Willie Delfs of Able Homebuilders in Sioux City.

The HBA of Iowa is a statewide trade association representing the home building industry.
