Play yards recalled

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KWWL) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled around 213,00 play yards sold at Babies "R" Us, Kmart, Sears, Target and Walmart.

The play yards are made in China and are distributed in the U.S. by the Dorel Juvenile Group Incorporated out of Columbus, Indiana.

They were sold as Safety 1st Disney Care Center™ Play Yard and Eddie Bauer Complete Care Play Yard and were sold with a bassinet attachment and a built-in changing station.

They say the one piece metal bars that support the floorboard of the bassinet attachment can come out of the fabric sleeves, creating an uneven sleeping surface which poses a risk of suffocation or asphyxiation.

The models included in the recall are 05025, 05026, 05037, 05088 and 05350.  You can find the model number printed on a sticker on one of the support legs underneath the play yard.

"Safety 1st" or "Eddie Bauer" are printed near the bottom of the fabric sides of the play yards.

The models in question were sold at Babies "R" Us, Kmart, Sears, Target and Walmart from January 2007 through October 2009 for between $100 and $130.

If you have any of the models in question, stop using the bassinet attachment to the play yard immediately  and contact Dorel Juvenile Group for a free repair kit including replacement bassinet fabric, bassinet bars and installation instructions.

You can contact Dorel Juvenile Group toll-free at (866) 762-2166 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET Friday, or visit their web site at
