Dangerous cold to continue for days

WATERLOO (KWWL) - Wind chills remain dangerously cold, dropping to 20 to 30 below during the overnight and morning hours over the next couple of days. Highs today will only be in the single digits above zero to around 10. Lows tonight drop back into the minus 5 to minus 12 degree range.

We will have lots of clear skies as we remain under the influence of a high pressure. Nothing really moves through the state until Wednesday when a system will approach and bring a chance of snow. Snowfall amounts, at the moment, look to be from a trace to two inches. The winds will be rather breezy on Thursday so the snow that falls will blow around. Temperatures remain well below average through next weekend.
