Milk truck crash sends one to hospital

ARLINGTON (KWWL) -- A New Year's Eve crash between a Buick and a milk truck sent the driver of the Buick to the hospital.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office got a call about a two vehicle accident at 2:20 p.m. on New Year's Eve.

Deputies found that Robert Adams of Lamont, was driving a 2005 Sterling milk truck when he pulled into the path of a 2001 Buick Century driven by Joseph Herman Wingert of Arlington.

It was determined that Adams stopped at the intersection of F Avenue and 80th Street, but did not see Wingert's car and pulled out into the intersection.

Wingert's Buick hit the right rear of the milk truck, and the Buick then spun into the ditch.

Wingert was taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The milk truck sustained minor damage, the Buick was considered a total loss.
