Iowa City schools ready to start search for new superintendent

Posted:

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- The Iowa City school district is starting its search for a new superintendent.

The school board has a special meeting set for 6:00 Monday night.

The current superintendent, Lane Pluge has taken a job with another district and will leave at the end of June.

The Board hopes to have his successor in place before then.

Officials say whoever the successor is, they have a tough job ahead of them with Governor Culver's ten percent cuts and the district going through the process of redistricting.
