Central Iowa house fire seen for miles

GILBERT (KWWL) - Firefighters in the central Iowa town of Gilbert spent 3 1/2 hours in the cold Saturday night fighting a massive house fire.  The fire broke out just after 9pm.  Gilbert firefighters say they could see the flames from two miles away.  When they arrived, they say the homeowner was trying to put the fire out with a garden hose.  Investigators say the fire may have started in the fireplace. No one was injured.
