Cell phones in court

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Court officials say they're fine-tuning their policies for cell phones as courtroom interruptions become more and more common.

Iowa judges say cell phones are disruptive, and in some cases judges have sanctioned people who have ignored earlier warnings.

Policies vary from courtroom to courtroom.

A panel of Public Information Officers will study the issue when it meets in the spring, possibly looking at a more comprehensive policy for Iowa's courts.
