Family still looking for a home after fire

WAVERLY (KWWL ) -- A fire has forced an area family to find a new place to live just days after Christmas.

The fire broke out on Tuesday morning at the home of Jennifer Snitker of Waverly. Snitker and the five children who were at house all made it out safely, but the house is almost a total loss.

Right now Snitker does not know what will happen with her home. Fire officials are still trying to determine a cause to the fire.

Snitker says the only good thing to come out of this horrible situation is the kindness she has felt, even from complete strangers.

"I would like to say thank you, thank you, thank you to everybody that has helped us so far because that's something that complete strangers have come in and helped us and I am very grateful for that," said Snitker

A benefit fund has been set up for the Snitker family at the Veridian Credit Union in Waverly. Donations, however, can be dropped of at any Veridian Credit Union branch.
