ISU football team ready for bowl game, despite size match-up

TEMPE, AZ (KWWL) -- It's a perfect way to bring in the new year, in sunny and warm Arizona. Even more perfect? How about a cyclone win against Minnesota at the Insight Bowl. Under first year head coach Paul Rhoads.

On the eve of the game between two 6 and 6 teams, that appear to be very closely matched, there is one area where there may be a mismatch. At least physically, the Cyclones defensives front lines up against the Gophers.

Minnesota brings into this game one of the nations biggest offensive lines averaging about 325 all the way across. ISU's defensive line is giving up about 65 points per man. As they're one of the small units in the big 12. But senior defensive lineman Nate Frere points out that didn't stop this team from getting here. He says the team has earned their spot in the bowl and they plan to use what they have to pull off a win.

And the cyclone offensive is very happy that Alexander Robinson is healthy again. Robinson gaining over a thousand yards this season. Despite missing one game and playing many others while hurt, following a grown injury suffered earlier against army.
