UPDATE: Three men arrested following Dubuque home invasion

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- Dubuque Police made quick work arresting three men they believe were involved in what they are now calling a home invasion on Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Earl Drive at around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday morning when people noticed men loading items into a vehicle.

Police stopped a vehicle matching the description at the intersection of Pennsylvania and Van Buren Avenue's.

Inside the vehicle, they found items matching the description of things reported stolen from 1600 Butterfield Road #114 a short time earlier.

Police then searched the apartment of Brandon Horkheimer, 19, at 1550 Butterfield Road #126 and found other evidence.

Police say the trio forced their way into the apartment while the victims were home.

Police also believe the three were armed and were familiar with the victims.

Police arrested Horkheimer, 20-year old Kevin McGovern and 20-year old Deangelo Jones.

Horkheimer was arrested during the traffic stop, the other two were found in Horkheimer's apartment.

All three are charged with 1st Degree Burglary.

Horkheimer is also charged with Interference with Official Acts because of his actions during the initial traffic stop.

All are in the Dubuque County Jail held on $250,000 bond.
