Hawks Fall To Purdue, 67-56 To Open Big 10 Season

Iowa controlled the first half against undefeated Purdue, but the Boilermakers used 21 points from E'Twaun Moore to beat the Hawks, 67-56 Tuesday night at Carver Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City. 

The victory is Purdue's 12th of the season, while Iowa falls to 5-8. Purdue got 16 from Robbie Hummel, while Aaron Fuller led Iowa with 15. Eric May added 11. Iowa led at half-27-26, and led the Boilers by 9 at one point. Purdue roared back in the second half and at one point, led Iowa by 16. The Hawks committed 16 turnovers and shot just 41-per cent for the game. Purdue shot 65 per cent from the field in the second half on route to its 12th victory of the season without a loss.
