Polk county considers contract with lobbying firm

Posted:

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- The Polk county Board of Supervisors votes Tuesday whether or not to renew a contract with a lobbying firm.

The Board of Supervisors hired federal advocates incorporated in June and paid 35,000 dollars for the firm to secure federal funds for local projects.

Renewing the contract would cost 70 thousand dollars.

The firm helped Polk county get more than 600,000 dollars in federal funds and helped prepare applications for about 50 million dollars in federal help on road, trail and bridge projects.
