Lisbon Woman Injured In Benton County Accident


A Lisbon woman is hospitalized in serious condition following a one-vehicle accident Monday in Benton County.

75-year old Justine Lillian Bova suffered serious injuries in the accident on Highway 30, just west of the Benton-Linn County line around 9:20 Monday morning.

Benton County Sheriff, Randall Forsyth, says Bova was westbound on Highway 30 and lost control of her vehicle on the snow and ice covered highway. Her vehicle went into the median and overturned coming to rest on its top.

In a Benton County Sheriff's Department Press Release, Sheriff Forsyth says Ms. Bova who was alone in the vehicle, and had to be extricated by Atkins Fire and First Responders.

She was flown to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City by Lifeguard Helicopter from Cedar Rapids.  Assisting at the scene was the Iowa State Patrol and Benton County Sheriff's Office. Investigation is continuing by the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
