Difficult Day for Eric Rule's Family

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Monday afternoon, a grand jury found "no bill of indictment" against Waterloo Police Officer Steven Bose.  This essentially clears him of all criminal charges in the September shooting of Eric Rule.

Rule's family, who publicly protested their loved one's death last fall, are asking for privacy Tuesday morning.  I stopped by Rule's wife's home, and was told they would call us when or if they have something to say.  They also added, this is a difficult time for them.

The Black Hawk County Attorney is speaking about the case for the first time.  He said, he wanted a grand jury to hear this particular case because it involved an officer-related shooting.

Tonight on Iowa's NewsChannel 7 at 6:00, I'm talking to attorney Tom Ferguson about what the decision means, and what information from the courtroom will be made public.
