Potential "significant" winter storm to impact holiday travel

WATERLOO (KWWL) - Forecasters say a potentially significant long-lasting winter storm could impact Iowa starting Wednesday and lasting through Christmas Day.  The storm could potentially bring heavy snow to northern and central portions of the state, with possibly icy conditions in southern Iowa.  Computer models have not come together on the exact track of the system but forecasters expect it will be a big weather maker for Iowa for 2 to 3 days.  It could affect travel severely.  Forecasters advise those with travel plans to be prepared for delays.
