Panthers beat North Dakota for 8th straight win

GRAND FORKS, NORTH DAKOTA (KWWL) -- The University of Northern Iowa knocked down 14 3-pointers and tallied a 64-41 road victory over the North Dakota Fighting Sioux on Saturday.

The Panthers' 3-point effort was led by freshman Marc Sonnen, who dropped in seven triples to score a career-high 21 points.

Ali Farokhmanesh was the only other Panther to reach double figures as he shot 3-of-5 from the floor and drained two free throws for 11 points. Kwadzo Ahelegbe capped a busy day with a team-high seven rebounds, five points and five assists.

UNI improved to 8-1 on the season and has now won seven straight contests. North Dakota dropped to 1-11 on the year.

The Panthers return home to take on the Wyoming Cowboys on Wed., Dec. 23, at 7:07 p.m. in the McLeod Center.
