Parker stresses preparation versus Georgia Tech

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- When Iowa hooks up with Georgia Tech they'll be seeing an option attack that none of the current defensive players has ever matched up against before.

The task of figuring out how to stop that Yellowjacket attack goes to Iowa defensive coordinator Norm Parker.  Parker's been a division one assistant coach for more than 40 years, but after watching the Georgia Tech attack, he believes film preparation for this game is a bigger deal than it has been for any other he's coached in.

"In all the time that we've been here, there's never been a team that's going to make the players study film and concentrate every play as much as this team will," says Parker, "because if you don't you're not going to win.  You can't think about football an hour and a half a day and go out and play these guys."

Iowa and Georgia Tech will meet up in the Orange Bowl on January 5.
