Another round of H1N1 could be coming

WATERLOO (KWWL) - Health experts are having a hard time convincing people to get the H1N1 vaccine now that infections are declining.

The Black Hawk County Public Health held a free public vaccine clinic Wednesday in Waterloo.

Federal health officials say nearly half the states have enough flu vaccine for everyone. Experts say the shots could be lifesavers if there is another major outbreak.

"It's our expectation that there will be another wave of peak illness occurring sometime during the month of February, so it's important now that we have adequate supplies of H1N1 vaccine, to get as many people vaccinated as possible over the next few weeks" said Bruce Meisinger from the Black Hawk County Health Dept.

The next mass vaccination in Black Hawk County will be Dec. 22 in Tama Hall at Hawkeye Community College from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m. 1,000 people are expected.
