Cedar Rapids removing toilets from flooded neighborhoods

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) – Since September 2008, the City of Cedar Rapids has provided 140 portable toilets in flood-impacted neighborhoods for residents as they rebuild their homes. City officials say over the last 15 months, the City has spent about $550,000 to provide this service. FEMA has obligated funding for this flood response expense through the end of the year. The City will remove all of the portable toilets from these neighborhoods by December 31, 2009.
