Lacey's triple-double helps garner Big 12 honor

AMES (KWWL) -- Iowa State senior point guard was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week by a media panel voting on performances for the week of Dec. 7-13. It was the third Big 12 weekly honor of Lacey's career.

In wins over Big Ten foes Iowa and Minnesota, Lacey averaged 21 points, seven rebounds and eight assists per game. In the 85-66 win over Iowa, the 6-foot guard posted just the second triple-double in school history and the 13th in Big 12 Conference history. Lacey tallied 19 points, 11 rebounds, 13 assists, five steals and blocked two shots against the Hawkeyes. Her 13 assists were a career high and tied for sixth place on the ISU single-game list.

Despite missing the final eight minutes of the first half with foul trouble at Minnesota, Lacey scored 23 points and posted three assists and three rebounds. She went 9-for-9 from the charity stripe and 2-for-2 from beyond the arc in the winning effort.

She is the first Cyclone player to be named Big 12 Player of the Week this season. Anna Prins earned Big 12 Freshman-of-the-Week honors after the first week of the campaign.
