E-mail down for Mediacom customers

DES MOINES (KWWL) – Thousands of Mediacom customers across the state of Iowa are without access to their e-mail due to a glitch in an upgrade.

"We're moving all of our e-mail data from one system to another," said Mediacom Communications Director Phyllis Peters.

"It turns out there are a few hiccups," added Peters.

The move involves more than one million e-mail mailboxes.

Peters said that a lot of the issues with the move have been caused by spam.

The switch was made Thursday and the company hopes to resolve the issues sometime over the weekend.

The recording on the toll free number states that Mediacom made changes to its network and that there might be issues with e-mail systems.

The company said that technicians are currently working on the problems.

The toll free customer service number for Mediacom is 1-888-847-6228.
