Update: Charges filed in University Avenue crash

WATERLOO (KWWL)-- A two vehicle crash at the intersection of University Avenue and Tunis Drive in Waterloo has a man in critical condition.

Waterloo Police say  a male passenger had to be extricated in Thursday afternoon's crash

Police say a car driven by 45 year old Elizabeth Dean ran a red light, and made a left turn from University Avenue to Tunis Drive. A vehicle driven 27-year-old Levi Gulick was traveling east on University and was hit by Dean. Police say Dean left the scene, leaving her passenger trapped inside the vehicle.

That passenger is in critical condition at a Waterloo hospital Thursday night. His name is being withheld until family is notified.

The male passenger is in critical condition at Allen Memorial, his name is being withheld until family can be notified. Gulick was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Police say Dean faces several charges in connection to the crash, including leaving the scene, running a red light, and driving while a license is revoked.
