Shoveling safety

While it's important to clear the walk -- it's also important to stay clear of the emergency room.
Experts say just 15 minutes of shoveling can be more of a workout than some aerobics classes.
Those at highest risk for heart attacks while shoveling include people with a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, smokers, and people who are out of shape.


The state health department has these tips..
Use a smaller shovel, possibly plastic to cut down on weight.
Take frequent breaks.
Drink plenty of fluids.
Don't dry to fling snow long distances.
And stop if it gets painful.
