Cyclone VB places 3 on All-Region Team

AMES (KWWL) -- The Iowa State trio of Victoria Henson, Kaylee Manns and Ashley Mass have been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association's All-Central Region team for the second year in a row. The players are now eligible for All-America consideration.

Henson, a junior from Leavenworth, Kan., was a first-team All-Big 12 selection after notching 4.21 kills per set in league play. The outside hitter successfully transitioned to an all-around player this fall, averaging 3.05 digs while playing the entire court for the first time in her career.

Manns, a senior setter from Topeka, Kan., was also a member of the All-Big 12 first team. She leads the league with 12.22 assists per set while also averaging 3.25 digs. Manns also led the Cyclones with 23 aces and recently became the first player in Big 12 history to record 5,500 assists, 1,000 digs, 300 kills and 300 blocks in a career.

A two-time Big 12 Libero of the Year, Mass earned a spot on the team after averaging an impressive 5.51 digs per frame. The junior was a unanimous selection by the Big 12 coaches as the libero of the year and also became the first player at the position to earn first-team accolades, where she was also a unanimous pick.

Iowa State will be back in action this weekend when it faces Nebraska Friday at 7 p.m. in the Omaha Regional.
