Crime free business program

IOWA CITY (KWWL) - The Iowa City and Coralville Police Departments are announcing a new crime prevention program available to area businesses.

Crime Free Business is designed to benefit the community-at-large by providing access to safe and secure businesses. This will be accomplished through working partnerships with business owners and employees, Chamber of Commerce and other local business groups, law enforcement agencies and commercial property owners by using combined resources to facilitate effective and lasting solutions.

Officers provide business security surveys, along with offering crime prevention tips and training. Officers give owners and managers a step-by-step action plan for improving safety and security in their establishment, allowing the business to become a certified Crime Free Business. The Crime Free Business Program is provided by the Iowa City and Coralville Police Departments at no cost to participating businesses.

Interested business owners, management and employees are encouraged to contact the Iowa City or Coralville Police Departments for more information.
