Angel of Mercy Tree seeks toys for children

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- Angel of Mercy Tree is asking you to brighten a child's Christmas this year by donating toys. The tree will be at Borders Book Store at Kennedy Mall, 555 John F. Kennedy Road, starting Friday, Nov. 27 through Sunday, Dec. 6, during regular store hours.

Those who wish to donate are invited to purchase a toy of their choice in the $10 – $25 range for a child up to 11 years of age. The unwrapped toys may be delivered to the Angel of Mercy Tree at Borders. Gifts of cash are also welcome and will be used in full to purchase toys for needy children. The Salvation Army will gather the toys and arrange for families, previously qualified by the Salvation Army, to "shop" for the right toy for their child in time for the holidays. Nearly one thousand children each year benefit from the generosity of the community through the Angel of Mercy Tree.

The Angel of Mercy Tree, now in its 22nd year, is sponsored by Mercy Medical Center, Salvation Army, Borders Book Store, and Radio Dubuque.
