Black Hawks Will Wear Special Uniforms

The Waterloo Black Hawks will be wearing special hockey jerseys for their home games at Young Arena this weekend.

First, the Black Hawks will join Waterloo Mayor, Tim Hurley, and Waterloo Police and Fire personnel, to unveil the special Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire and Rescue jerseys the team will wear this weekend. That Press Conference is set for Thursday afternoon at 3:30 at Waterloo City Hall.

The jersey unveiling press conference will featureL Waterloo Mayor Tim Hurley, Police Chief Thomas Jennings, Fire Chief Doug Carter, Black Hawks Vice President of Sales and Marketing Clint Rowe.

The Black Hawks released this statement about the special weekend jerseys and Thursday's press conference.

The Waterloo Black Hawks and the City of Waterloo will unveil unique hockey jerseys which the team will wear this weekend. By special permission of the United States Hockey League, the Black Hawks have been allowed two wear two different uniforms during Saturday’s game against the Des Moines Buccaneers. The jersey’s, one featuring the crest of the Waterloo Police Department and the other with the seal of the Fire and Rescue Department, will be auctioned off following the game, with profits benefiting the Police and Fire Department Honor Guards. Mayor Hurley, Chiefs Jennings and Carter, and Mr. Rowe will all be available to answer questions about this exciting partnership.
