Waverly-Shell Rock Sweeps Williamsburg to Advance to 3A State Finals

Cedar Rapids (KWWL) Third-ranked Waverly-Shell Rock advanced to the Class 3A championship match with a 25-21, 25-15, 25-10 victory over unranked Williamsburg Friday afternoon.

 

The Go-Hawks will face top-ranked Bishop Heelan in the 3A championship match at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

 

Waverly-Shell Rock hit .386 as a team with Morgan Kuhrt leading the attack with 16 kills and seven digs. Hannah Walker added 12 kills for the Go-Hawks, who improve to 46-5.

 

Mackenzie Bigbee had 16 kills to lead Williamsburg, who finishes its season at 27-12.
