Two men charged in recent garage burglaries

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- Two Waterloo men are now charged in a string of garage and vehicles burglaries over the last two weeks.

On Oct. 28, police were called to the area of The Ridges off of West 1st Street and the area of Terrace Drive and Neola in Cedar Falls. In both areas, police say several vehicles and garages were broken into and items were taken. On Nov. 3, police found similar break-ins in the area of West 10th Street, and then again on Nov. 12 in the areas of Erik Road and Hillcrest Apartments.

During the investigation, police identified and obtained search warrants for the homes of possible suspects. While searching those homes, police recovered items from the burglaries in Cedar Falls.

Police have charged Quinton Moore, 22, and Jacob Burton, 28, both of Waterloo, with several counts of burglary in the second and third degree. Both men are being held in the Black Hawk County Jail.

Police say the investigation continues and additional charges and arrests are possible.
