Rubashkin found guilty on 86 of 91 charges

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KWWL) -- A federal jury has found former Agriprocessors CEO, Sholom Rubashkin, guilty of 86 of 91 charges of financial fraud.

Rubashkin was found guilty on all 14 charges of bank fraud, all 24 counts of false statements to a bank, all 14 counts of wire fraud, all 9 counts of mail fraud, all 10 counts of money laundering and aiding and abetting and 15 of 20 counts of willful violation of an order of the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.

Rubashkin faces a maximum 1,280 years in prison.  A sentencing date has not been set.

The charges were brought against him following the May 2008 raid of the former Agriprocessors plant that resulted in the arrest of 389 illegal workers.

The plant has since been sold and is now named Agri Star Meat and Poultry, LLC and is owned by Canadian businessman Hershey Friedman.

The seven woman, five man jury reconvened Thursday after having Wednesday off for Veteran's Day.

Rubashkin is expected to face 72 federal immigration charges in a separate trial in December.
