State tourney helps Cedar Falls economy

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- The state football finals are held in the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.

Last year, about 80,000 people attended, and that amounted to more than 3-million dollars spent in the Cedar Valley.

In 2007, the state football tournament had a 2.8 million dollar impact.

This year, the UNI-Dome will host 22 games, according to the University of Northern Iowa, and they're anticipating around 80,000 people. The Cedar Falls Visitor's Bureau is estimating more than 3.5 million dollars will be spent by fans in the Cedar Valley.
