Stanzi not on depth chart, Vandenberg listed as starter

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- It probably doesn't come as a surprise to most Hawkeye fans, but Ricky Stanzi is not listed on the depth chart released today for the Ohio State game.

Keep in mind, that doesn't mean Stanzi won't play this Saturday, it means that he didn't practice yesterday.

We should get definitive word on Stanzi's condition Tuesday at Coach Ferentz's weekly press conference.

Red shirt freshman and Keokuk native James Vandenberg is listed as the starter, while fellow red shirt freshman and Illinois native John Wienke is listed as the back-up.

Stanzi injured his ankle in the second quarter of the 17-10 loss to Northwestern and did not return to the game.

The loss dropped the Hawkeyes from 4th to 10th in the BCS rankings.

Kirk and company travel to Columbus, Ohio on Saturday to face the Buckeyes for what very well could be the game that decides the Big 10 title.

Iowa's News Channel 7 will have complete coverage of the week leading up to the big game starting with the Ferentz press conference on Tuesday and Mark Woodley will report from Columbus on Friday.

Mark will wrap up the week with live reports from Columbus before and after the game on Saturday.
