CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Voters in House District 33 can now cast their ballots for the November 24, 2009 special election.

Absentee ballots are now available from the Linn County Elections Office at Linn County West at 2500 Edgewood Road SW in Cedar Rapids.  That's the old Steve and Barry's location at Westdale Mall.

Eligible voters for this election are in Cedar Rapids precincts 1 through 11.

The vote is to replace State Representative Dick Taylor who stepped down in October.

Taylor's son Mark, who was a Linn County Sheriff's Deputy, was killed in a one-car accident after suffering a heart attack in July.

Kirsten Running-Marquardt (D) and Joshua Thurston (R) are vying to fill the vacant seat.
