Eldon Miller Returns to Iowa

Saturday is being dubbed Eldon & Dee Miller Day at the McLeod Center as the Panthers honor former head coach Eldon Miller. Miller is currently an assistant coach for the UNC-Pembroke Braves, under his son, Ben, the Braves' head coach.

Eldon Miller was the head coach at UNI from 1987-1998 and coached the second-most games in UNI men's basketball history. He led the Panthers to their first NCAA Division I tournament in 1990 after winning the Mid-Continent Conference Tournament to clinch the league's automatic bid. Fourteenth-seeded UNI went on to upset third-seeded Missouri in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The Panthers will honor the 1989-90 men's basketball squad prior to the game as a part of the Eldon & Dee Miller Day festivities.

Prior to Saturday's game, UNI will display its 2009 NCAA Tournament banner for the first time. UNI advanced to last season's NCAA Tournament after capturing the MVC Tournament title.
