Tea Party group to protest in Dubuque

DUBUQUE (KWWL) - A group called "The Dubuque Tea Party" will join thousands of other "Tea Party" groups across the country Thursday to protest against a government run health care plan.

The group says members of Congress did not hear their protests at town hall meetings last August. With short notice, tight budgets and lack of time, many in Dubuque cannot make the trek to D.C. So the Dubuque Tea Party will take the protest to Congressman Braley's Dubuque office.

The group will protest at Washington Square Park across from the Historic Federal Building in Dubuque from  12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Thursday.

Tea Dubuque believes in free market solutions to health care reform such as medical liability lawsuit limits, Health Savings Accounts, purchase of health insurance across state lines, individual tax benefits for health insurance purchases, and more.
