Rubashkin's father testifies in fraud trial

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KWWL) -- The founder of Agriprocessors Inc. Says he spent every penny he could get to keep a kosher meatpacking plant in Iowa open after an immigration raid last year.

Abraham Rubashkin testified during his son's federal financial fraud trial.

Sholom Rubashkin, is charged in a 91-count indictment.

Abraham testified that he mortgaged his home, two buildings he owned and his store in Brooklyn, N.Y., to keep the Postville plant open.

The efforts failed as the plant fell into bankruptcy in November 2008.

Abraham says he was unaware of any illegal immigrants at the plant.
